Welcome to Birmingham Road Care Home
Birmingham Road Care Home is situated in West Bromwich in the West Midlands. It provides a normal homely environment for up to 6 adults with a learning disability. Some of the people may also have other disabilities but their primary disability is a learning disability.
The home, which is a large Victorian three-storey house, is registered with CSCI and was opened in August 2006. All of the rooms are single rooms with full en-suite shower rooms. The home is managed by Kaldip Kaur, who is a registered nurse and also has her registered managers award (RMA). The care staff either have or are working towards an NVQ level 2 as a minimum.
Our CQC inspection gave us a two star, good rating. Our latest inspection report can be found on the CQC website.
Our philosophy of care at Birmingham Road is to deliver a quality service in homely surroundings and to help each individual feel valued. Residents are encouraged to play a full part in the life of the care home and in their own individual care. Where residents are not able to make decision for themselves then they are assisted to do so or their advocates or family members are fully involved.
The privacy, dignity and individuality of each resident are always maintained. Encouragement, prompting, support and reassurance are given to enable each resident to maintain their independence as far is practically possible. We make sure that the individual, their family, friends or advocates are fully informed of what this may entail.
Birmingham Road staff endeavour to maintain the safety of all residents, avoiding any harm coming to them. We respect our residents’ rights and wishes as well as their right to make personal choices with regard to their daily care and management.
We aim to provide suitable recreation for all our residents, welcoming and encouraging family members and friends to participate wherever possible for both activities in and outside of the home.
