Qualifications of Domiciliary Care Workers


Senior Care Workers will be expected to have NVQ 3 or actively working towards achieving the qualification
Experienced care workers will have NVQ 2 or have substantial experience and actively working to achieve the NVQ 2 award

There will be opportunities for employment for people who can demonstrate aptitude and appropriate attitude for supporting adults. Where new care workers have no qualification they will be enabled and expected to undertake the LDQ qualification. There will also be an expectation that within 2 years of gaining this qualification they will attain NVQ 2 in care.
